POSITION SUMMARY
Performs grounds and facilities maintenance duties, including: maintaining cleanliness of buildings, facilities, and grounds; applying cleaning chemicals; performing light maintenance on equipment; performing various landscaping functions; and maintaining and performing minor repairs to equipment, grounds, and systems.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or GED; and,
One year of progressively responsible related experience; or,
Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Colorado driver's license (depending on assignment)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (All responsibilities may not be performed by all incumbents.)
Performs grounds maintenance functions, including: mowing and edging laws; trimming trees and shrubbery; removing weeks; planting flowers, trees, etc.; raking and disposing of leaves; repairing sprinkler systems, fences, and water spouts; digging trenches; removing snow; and removing trash.
Performs facilities operations and maintenance functions, including: maintaining equipment; operating and making minor repairs to facility equipment (playground equipment, tractors, fencing, etc.); painting interior and exterior walls, trim, etc.; and assuring lighting systems are properly programmed and working.
Performs custodial functions, including: inspecting and evaluating the cleanliness of the facilities and grounds; collecting trash inside and outside of the building; cleaning trash receptacles; disposing of trash and recyclables; cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, changing dispensers, stocking supplies, pressure washing, and/or buffing all floors and sidewalks; cleaning windows; and replacing light bulbs and cleaning light fixtures.
Maintaining equipment and vehicles, including: repairing and replacing parts; washing and cleaning; and performing preventive maintenance functions.
Operating a variety of power and hand tools utilized in ground maintenance activities.
Performing routine maintenance on various power or hand tools and equipment, including: lubricating, changing oil, and sharpening.
IMPORTANT JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assists in maintaining facilities and completing related projects.
Pours and finishes concrete.
May serve as backup for other positions within the department.
Disseminates a variety of information to various agencies, divisions, or departments via telephone, mail, or FAX.
Performs other related duties as assigned
