Moffat County received funding from the US Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration and Department of Local Affairs to conduct a comprehensive economic assessment to further the economy beyond coal and energy reliance. Moffat County contracted with Better City to conduct the project. This assessment started in March of 2016 to gather information about demographics, existing job opportunities, identify opportunities for job growth and economic development throughout Moffat County. The last part of this project is coming to a close with recommendations from Better City from their work. The final piece of the project will be community input from the recommendations.
